With summer around the corner, Diageo South Africa has launched two variants of Gordon’s– Gordon’s Pink Berry and Gordon’s Sunset Orange – that offer consumers more options in the growing flavoured white spirits category.

Gordon’s is the number one international gin brand that Diageo owns, produces and sells in many parts of the world. 

Gordon’s London Dry Gin continues to be distributed by Distell under licence from Diageo in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and eSwatini while Diageo distributes the London Dry Gin in the rest of continent.

Both Gordon’s Pink Berry and Sunset Orange are produced at Diageo’s Isipingo Plant in Durban, which is further increasing the company’s local content to 65% of the total volumes sold in South Africa. Other products manufactured at Isipingo Plant are Smirnoff 1818, which is the biggest of all spirit brand by volume in SA, Smirnoff Infusion as well as Captain Morgan, the biggest rum brand in the country.  

The new Gordon’s Pink Berry is made with the highest quality ingredients and has been perfectly crafted to balance the refreshing taste of Gordon’s Gin with the natural sweetness of raspberry and strawberry. Gordon’s Sunset Orange on the other hand, is perfectly crafted to balance the refreshing taste of Gordon’s with fresh juicy orange notes. 

White spirits sales continue to grow internationally with Diageo reporting 11% growth in vodka and 18% growth in gin net sales globally in its July 2022 results. In line with these global trends, white spirit sales continue to grow in SA because of factors such as enticing flavours that allow the adventurous gin lovers to cater to a range of tastes and recipes. 

Gordon’s Pink Berry and Sunset Orange are spirit aperitifs with a 35% ABV and are now available at local retail partners.
