After a record yield in 2020,  and with the 2021 harvest in progress, the SA Olive Industry is excited to announce the 2021 SA Olive Awards event to be held on Thursday, the 9th of September at the beautiful Webersburg Wine Estate, Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

The annual SA Olive Awards competition was created in 2006 to honour the olive oil industry in South Africa. The event, a premier fixture on the South African olive industry calendar, signifies and acknowledges the culmination of hard work and the strive for excellence in our olive oil industry.

A panel of local and international experts will judge the oils over five days and award gold, silver or bronze medals.

Before an olive oil can be entered into the SA Olive Awards, it must be verified as extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) – the highest quality grade for an olive oil. SA Olive’s Commitment to Compliance scheme is the process whereby the SA Olive
CTC seal
is awarded to local EVOOs after laboratory testing and tasting by SA Olive’s Organoleptic Panel.

The SA Olive Awards focuses on maintaining our quality promise to consumers, whilst celebrating our producers and their exceptional olive oils.
