Our purpose of uplifting lives every day is evident though our continued commitment to the communities we serve, our efforts to reduce to protect the planet and our investment in our employees.
In the last financial year:
- the Group created 6 490 new jobs, of which 2 171 were filled by youth;
- trained 6 046 unemployed youth through our Retail Readiness Programme and the YES initiative;
- invested R423 million into South African communities;
- increased renewable electricity consumption to 6.5% of our total electricity consumption;
- diverted 80 709 tonnes of waste from landfills.
